A mobile website can fit the screen and still make enquiries difficult. Test the complete journey from opening a service page to receiving its submitted message. Responsive layout alone does not establish that this journey is usable.
Give someone a specific task
Ask a person unfamiliar with the site to find a service and begin an enquiry. Observe hesitation without prompting. Record the page, device and obstacle. This turns a vague usability complaint into an issue that can be reproduced and fixed.
Look for practical barriers
A menu that closes during selection, a hidden button or unreadable text over an image can interrupt the task. Use actual long headings rather than short demonstration copy. Check whether floating notices cover form fields.
- A clear service offer and a discoverable next step.
- Readable labels, suitable keyboards and understandable errors.
- Buttons with adequate surrounding space.
- Working telephone and email links.
- Entered information preserved after a validation error.
Test the form end to end
Send a controlled test submission and confirm delivery. Try an empty required field, an invalid email and a longer message. A success notice should correspond to an actually processed enquiry. Avoid fields whose answers nobody will use.
Fix or redesign?
When the main structure works, targeted menu and form corrections may be enough. Repeated problems across multiple templates may justify a broader change. Request a demonstration of the corrected journey before accepting the work.
How should improvement be measured?
Compare completed, qualified enquiries by device under comparable traffic conditions. A small number of visits does not support confident conclusions over a short period. Continue with the traffic without enquiries diagnostic guide to separate interface problems from audience and offer issues.
